Hello, My name is Josie Whisman, I’m a fashion photographer from the Windy City. One of the things I love about photography is just how much there is to explore and the ability to take risks and try new things. I love meeting people and being able to tell their stories as well as exploring parts of the world you can only find when you’re lost.
My love of photography came when I took a film photography course in high school. I remember taking a black and white film photo of my little sister. As soon as I saw the finished developed film, I knew from that moment forward I wanted to do more.
The more classes I took and the more pictures I captured, the more my work continued to evolve and in 2017 I enrolled in Columbia College Chicago where I majored in Fashion Photography. As a student of photography, I have been able to rub elbows with everyone from industry professionals to students like myself. I can’t wait to continue to see my work evolve and to take new avenues.
